Our Clergy, Rabbi Mark Gross, has been with Temple Beth Orr for 27 years. Rabbi Gross was educated in the Reform movement. He creates new worship and educational experiences for us on an ongoing basis. He is also available to provide pastoral care in times of trouble or illness and to conduct life cycle events such as a baby naming, bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings and funerals. Rabbi Aviva Bass has joined Temple Beth Orr as our Cantorial Soloist. Rabbi Bass is a member in good standing of the Central Conference of American Rabbis. She holds the highest level teaching certification awarded from the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education; a Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree, Double Major in Judaic Studies, from the University of Miami, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude; and a Master of Arts in Jewish Education from Gratz College. Rabbi Bass is a lyric soprano. Her voice is simply beautiful. We look forward to a sacred partnership for years to come.
Our Shabbat Services - Come and worship with us. Join us for Friday evening Shabbat Services to experience the warmth, caring and spirituality of our multi-generational congregational facility. On the first Friday of the month we meet at 6:30 for an earlier Celebration Shabbat which includes during the school year musical participation by selected grades from our Religious School. The second and fourth Fridays of the month each begin at 8:00 PM with the final Shabbat service of the month being a Torah Shabbat. We also meet on the third Friday of the month at 6:30 for a family oriented and kid friendly Shabbat Experience featuring musical selections lead by our mini-band. All of our Shabbat Services feature our dynamic and engaging music program performed by our talented volunteers and by Rabbi Bass. Following services, we look forward to greeting congregants and visitors during the Oneg Shabbat. Our more traditional Shabbat Morning Worship and Torah Study are held on Saturdays at 10:00 A.M. and are open to all.
Our Quest for Lifelong Learning - We pride ourselves in offering educational opportunities for all ages and stages of life. From our infant class, K’tonton Club for children through age 6, to Religious School for Kindergarteners through 12th grade, to Youth Groups and Adult Education offerings, we have programs to entice and interest all. We embrace you in whatever stage of Judaism you find yourself, from exploring to observant.
Temple Beth Orr has been the spiritual home of reform Jews in Broward County since 1972 when chartered as The Coral Springs Hebrew Congregation. Our facilities underwent a facelift in the last few years and we would welcome the opportunity to provide existing and prospective members a tour of all we have to offer at Temple Beth Orr. A tour alone cannot capture our spirit and vitality and for this we would urge you to immerse yourself into all of the religious, communal, and social activities available to you at Temple Beth Orr. We invite you to enjoy and celebrate all that is Temple Beth Orr.
L’shalom
