The Brotherhood Holocaust Studies Scholarship Fund is a merit-based fund available to defray some of the costs associated with enrollment in March of the Living as well as other Holocaust Studies and projects.
The scholarships are awarded to individuals who have shown promise of future leadership as well as individuals who have demonstrated exemplary support of Temple Beth Orr and/or the Jewish community at large by volunteerism or mitzvot.
Awards from this fund do not affect the eligibility of awards from other scholarship funds; however, generally, a distribution may be made from this fund to an individual only once in any 24 month consecutive period. Exceptions to this restriction are rare, however do occur with the unanimous consent of the Scholarship Committee.
If funds are available, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee, scholarships amounts may be awarded up to 50% of the cost to a candidate. Monies are not eligible towards the costs of travel expenses for events.
No funds shall be provided to any Temple Beth Orr member or other person participating in a Holocaust program without prior written approval of the Scholarship Subcommittee of Brotherhood
