Take a Look at Our Curriculum...
From Kindergarten through Grade 12, Temple Beth Orr provides children with many opportunities to learn about and practice Reform Judaism.
In our “hands-on” Religious School, we utilize numerous modalities to reach all of our students. From baking challah for Shabbat, clay menorahs for Chanukah, baking our own matzah for Passover, and many more activities, our goal is not to preach to our students, but to engage them in their Jewish education.
5 X (by) 5 is an elective, home Hebrew reading program for students in 2nd through 6th Grade. Students can choose to participate in this home Hebrew reading program by agreeing to read their assigned grade-level prayers for five minutes a day five days a week. Neimand Mitzvah Project: The Next Wave For Change
On Sunday, May 15, 2011 Temple Beth Orr Religious School students had their "mini kickoff" for their new mitzvah project which begins in the upcoming 2011/2012 school year. The Neimand Mitzvah Project, which is sponsored by Dr. & Mrs. Doug Neimand and directed by chairperson Tracy Cohen, will partner with Ocean Conservancy to help raise students awareness about the importance of helping to keep our oceans trash free. There will be many activities on the calendar for next years' project, with the highlight being Ocean Conservancy's 25th Annual Coastal Cleanup in September. In the last quarter of a century, on just one day every September, almost nine million people have picked up some 144 million pounds of trash in more than 150 countries and locations. Our Neimand Mitzvah Project students will join hundreds of Florida residents to collect and record trash found on our local beaches, which helps industries to find new ways to reduce their “ocean trash footprint.” Photo: Front row from left to right: Marley Ackerman, Zoe Fox-Snider, Payton Cohen, Samantha Lawrence, Adam Sokoloff & Samantha Ross
