Thank you to our Cantorial Search and Transitional Task Force members!

For any event or endeavor to be successful here at Temple Beth Orr,  our TBO leadership asks volunteers who care deeply about our spiritual home to come together, plan, dedicate their time, talent and energy to make the  task at hand seem effortless. The following members came together, worked hard and selected Rabbi Aviva Bass to be our Cantorial Soloist. And to make her transition smooth, warm and welcoming they again came together as we celebrated  at a welcoming Shabbat on August 19.  Please join me in thanking...our President, Glenn Mednick, First VP Sheila Kravitz and :  Harriet Farkas, Steve Kalisher, Laurie Sokoloff, Laura Becker,JohnFox Snider, Peg Pickholtz,  Susan Wanderman, Ronni Roth and  Marketing and Committee, Andy Fields and Garry Pottruck and the men of Brotherhood, and our Youth, Harriet Docteroff,  Selma Keil and Women of Sisterhood, Judi Sitkin and the Religious Practices Committee Susan Hendler Lubar and the Library Committee, Dory Block and the ECC Committee, Beth Alhanti and the Membership Committee, Joyce Rubin and the Fabulous Fifties, Linda Black and the Interior Design Committee Stan Klein, Karen Ball, Vicky Goldstein,  Bonni Tandet, Sandy Friedland, Diane Trivelli, and Oren Gross. THE HIGH HOLY DAYS 101

            The Jewish calendar is not based on the earth's revolutions around the sun, as the secular calendar is. Instead, the Jewish calendar is made up of moon cycles, each month beginning with the time of the new moon.
