Coral Springs Youth Uses Art to Help Colorado Flood Victims

Seven-year-old Brendan Kenny is no stranger to philanthropy. He already has two successful Teddy Bear drives under his belt that helped children displaced by devastating tornados in 2011 and last year’s Super Storm Sandy. His newest venture is tapping into his creative side. Brendan will be auctioning his original art work at The Gard Gallery in Parkland, FL on Friday, November 15, 2013. The gallery is hosting an event from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. located at 6240 Coral Ridge Drive, Suite 109, Parkland, FL 33076. Their goal is to showcase the art of local children and raise money to help Colorado Flood Victims.

One hundred percent of all funds collected through the sale of art will go directly to those in need. In addition, Elizabeth Gard, the gallery owner will also donate 10% of all $99 studio packages purchased in the month of October. The event is free of charge and snacks will be served.

“Brendan wants to show that kids can make a big difference despite their size and age,” said his mother Melissa Kenny. “I like that I get to use my best talent to help the people in Colorado. It’s a good cause,” added Brendan.

“Young Brendan is an innocent gift of light compelled to help other people. We all have obligations to our own families but don’t forget we must also help others even if we do not know their names,” said Elizabeth Gard.

For more information about the event or for children wishing to donate original artwork, please call or email Elizabeth Gard at info@thegardschool.com or (954) 752-0001.
