Our Winning TBO Softball Team!
Men of Reform Judaism was developed to inspire men’s fellowship, interest in Jewish worship, Jewish studies, tikkun olam, as well as service to the congregation, Jewish Community and the Community at large. The Temple Beth Orr Brotherhood organizes and participates in a multitude of events throughout the year. Listed below are just a few of our programs.
Men’s Night Out – All Temple Beth Orr men and interested guests are welcome to join us for dinner, typically held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm at a local restaurant. It is BYOD (buy your own dinner), and usually lasts until around 8:30. We do change up the restaurants every few months to keep it fresh and new. If you are interested, please contact either of the Brotherhood Co-Presidents: Garry Pottruck at 954-729-3159 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Phil Neiss at 954-380-4000 (email@example.com) for details.
Men’s Annual Dinner – Each year for the past eleven years, TBO Brotherhood holds a “Dinner and Adult Beverage Educational Experience”. This is an extremely entertaining and well attended event open to all Brotherhood members and their guests. The 12th annual dinner will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 in the Share Social Hall at Temple Beth Orr. The “adult beverage” featured this year will be RUM! Come and learn all about this spirit, and enjoy a tasty and delicious dinner. It’s going to be a great time – don’t miss it! Contact Garry or Phil if you have any questions.
Men’s Softball – Temple Beth Orr has a fun, energetic softball team. We periodically play against other Synagogues in our area and always welcome new members. If interested please contact Sean Kenny (954-821-3543)
Yellow Candle Program – Brotherhood organizes the Yom HaShoah Yellow Candle Program. Yom Hashoah is observed as Israel’s day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust, and this program provides a way to remember and reflect on Yom HaShoah. A yellow candle and Yom HaShoah prayer is sent to every temple family which enables everyone to observe this solemn occasion.
Brotherhood Shabbat – The annual Brotherhood Shabbat service will be held sometime late in 2017. There are a limited number of (English) speaking parts, and all Brotherhood members qualify for a part on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact Phil if you are interested.
