Temple Beth Orr’s Response to The Stoneman Douglas Tragedy & Relevant Resources

During this difficult time, many of us are searching for ways we can help the families and students affected by the tragic shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. We would like to share with you what TBO is doing as well as some resources and ways you can help!

Temple Beth Orr Commemorative Events
Temple Beth Orr will be making sure that our community feels loved and supported.

On February 8th, we will have an MSD Healing service. We will have three teachers from MSD speaking about what they experienced and how they are healing.

On February 9th, we will have a special Kindness Tot Shabbat service for our youngest members

On February 10th, during Religious School Tefillah for grades 3-6, we will offer some healing prayers of comfort.

On February 14th, we will have a Social Action program from 11:00am – 1:00pm to pack gift bags for First Responders.  We will have a counselor from JFS on our campus from 1-5pm.  As always, our sanctuary will be open for anyone to come and offer a prayer or to provide a healing space.  Please join the Clergy Coalition for the interfaith service this evening at Pine Trails Park.

FEBRUARY 14, 2019

Pine Trails Park

Coral Springs and Parkland will be hosting a brief Interfaith ceremony for the community at 5:45 p.m. This ceremony is intended to last approximately 30 minutes. The park will be open both before and after the ceremony. Therapy dogs and counselors will be onsite throughout the day.

In lieu of mementos (cards, flowers, pictures, etc.) or other such expressions of condolences we ask that you bring a canned food item to support our efforts in this day of service.

Counseling – In addition to Rabbi, TBO has had counselors available (to those in need) since the day of this tragedy.     Rabbi has led sessions for our youth and their parents and we will continue to have counselors available.
